In Boy Scouts, the troops are supposed to be boy lead, and we do this. It provides excellent opportunities for the young scouts to learn leadership skills. While much of the organization is done by the scouts themselves -- and thus is a bit disorganized -- adult leadership provides supervision to make sure the experience is safe for all, and to prevent the worst of the failures.

The troop has several patrols of seven or so scouts, each patrol having scouts of a range of ranks and ages. This helps foster the development of leadership and learning skills in each patrol.

Meetings are relaxed, with a combination of skill development activities followed by fun recreational games.

During the school year the scouts wear the formal scout uniform (Class A), with summer being more informal (Class B T-Shirt).
